Dan Eldon Center & Carols second act

Today was a very special day, we finally got to meet Kathy and Amy Eldon. It was so amazing to get to meet the producers behind Dying to tell the story, and the Journey is The Destination. Also, sitting in Dr. X's mass media class and writing them meaningful letters made it feel so surreal that we were meeting them. It was so inspiring to see people turn tragedy into beauty, and are still continuing to tell his story. It was also nice talking to Alicia Doughery, she is the director of Operations, Communications and Dan Eldon Legacy. She explained how when she learned about Dan she felt like she had to go out and travel like he did and impact the world like he did. She then learned that she can help from where she was. She told us we don't have to just travel to help people, we can change the world just where we are. We also, got to talk to Ella Charon, who is graphic designer website content manager, and collaborator for Dan Eldon Legacy. She told us how interning helped her in many ways figure out what she liked, and didn't like. Kathy and Amy were so good about answering my questions like what's it like being a female producer in the industry. They simply told me that it's not difficult to be a female producer in this industry, and how they feel like its the woman time. Seeing Dan's journals and hearing about that he wrote was intriguing to see the real journals up close. Kathy was so generous to allow us in her home on a beach front, and throw us together a lunch, she made a wonderful salad, pizza, pot pies, bagels, and chips. She was such a genuine person, I am so glad I got an experience like that.
Today was the day of the woman. We went an saw Carol's Second Act, that was mostly an all woman team, starting with writers and directors, all the way to the cast. I noticed that this taping was more organically funny. I also enjoyed that the Actors and Actresses had so much faith in themselves when they messed up they'd just pick up right where they left off without the director telling them. I noticed how there was a woman on camera, that was so interesting to me because I haven't really seen any woman besides the actresses on the set. One thing I noticed more was that they reshot a lot of scenes and rewrote the scripts on the fly, that was one of the only shows we've seen that rewrote and reshot so many times. It's defiantly interesting to see the difference in shows.
