San Francisco

Today was the day all the anticipation went away, we all finally headed out to California! The first stop was San Francisco, with a few minor pit stops. First, our plane got delayed, we finally left around 9am, when we originally were suppose to leave at 7:30am. Then we arrived in Chicago, around 11, which the plane ride mostly consisted of me sleeping or listening to music. Then we finally got on our fight to San Fransisco. This 5 hour flight was just full of sleeping. Then as soon as we arrived to San Fransisco around 3:30pm we went to In n Out Burger. Which was DELICIOUS. But, don't ask about the traffic pulling into In N Out, because we definitely weren't IN fast thanks to the Quick Quack Car wash. Apparently everyone in San Fransisco needed a car wash at 3:40pm Monday after noon. But we had to be quick, and we rushed on over to the Letterman Digital Arts Center, Also known as Lucas Film. Over at Lucas Film's we were able to see Star Wars replicas. Then we had an interesting trip with Melanie to Aunt Patty's house. We went up many hills, and down many more, confused as how car were even parked at a 90 degree angle. We were in rush, because Lucas film's was an hour away and we had an hour to be at Aunt Patty's. But at last we finally arrived to Aunt Patty's 1 hour and 30 minutes later. She had practically a whole Mexican restaurant in her kitchen, waiting for us, it was amazing! We then met Robert who works for Twitch, which we will be going to on Wednesday. Then we met Margie, X's sister she works as an HR person to do background check on Uber drivers, and Lyft. Then after we ate, we handed out presents to Aunt Patti, Robert, Margrie, and Scott. All tc3 attire of course. Then we played Charades, for some reason I was the one who was suppose to method act, LITERALLY I'd be the one to act out EVERYTIME. No hard feelings though. Yeah X, every time, REALLY!!!!?? Anyways after Charades we all figured out shower schedules and now, it is time for bed. Let's not forget how Aunt Patty followed Mackenzie and I on tiktok, we are trying to get X to make one. We are going be going to Google and Playstation Bright and early.

When we went to Sony we got to go on a regular lot tour and see some stages where shows were airing and history of Sony studios. We then go a private tour with Tony Saccocio the Vice President of Sony creative center of Sony television , Adrian the producer, Devin an editor, and MJ an editor. When doing the tour of the lots we also got to see props from many of the movie's made by Sony productions. When in the private tour, it was amazing to sit and listen to editors and other people on the production talk. I found it interesting that Sony will only need 6 edits but creators on the team will make 96 edits because they wanted to make sure that when they submitted stuff it was something that the client would like. They made it very clear that you need to submit different ideas not just the one that you think is the best. They also made it clear that you need to learn as many different programs to be useful to everyone. Also we need to know how to problem solve. You NEVER want to say

P.A. BOOTCAMP DAY 1&2

P.A. bootcamp really opened my eyes to what it's going to be like to work on studio events. It's not about you, it's about the people above you. On the first day, we mostly learned vocabulary. We learned how to set up AD kits, and what all the paper work is. We learned the proper way to act on each show and movie. Big profit television shows you need to be  50% personality and 50% work ethic. On just a regular television show you need to be 70% work ethic and 30% personality. The reason for the ratio being 70:30 is because time is money, and on a television show you have less time/ shorter deadlines. I learned that you have to think positive and leave work stuff, at work. If you make a mistake, put it behind you and learn from it for your next production. You have to put yourself in the mind set of a A.D. which is always anticipating. Universal Studios & Sony Animation

Today at Universal Studios was such an exciting experience. On the bus tours it was so cool to see sets and how some of them are only partial sets, it looks like theres more there than there really is. It was really cool how they made movies into "ride" like experiences. The recreated an Earthquake scene from the movie earthquake. They had 3D glasses and did a whole 3D experience of King Kong.  They took us into the garage of Fast and Furious making it 3D, and making it feel like we were passenger in the cars. They showed us the set used for the Grinch who stole Christmas, and Bates Motel. They showed us all 30 sound stages they have and told us what's been shot in there and what's being shot in there now. We also got to see an actual commercial being shot at Universal today. That went perfectly with what we are here for.
