When we went to Sony we got to go on a regular lot tour and see some stages where shows were airing and history of Sony studios. We then go a private tour with Tony Saccocio the Vice President of Sony creative center of Sony television , Adrian the producer, Devin an editor, and MJ an editor. When doing the tour of the lots we also got to see props from many of the movie's made by Sony productions. When in the private tour, it was amazing to sit and listen to editors and other people on the production talk. I found it interesting that Sony will only need 6 edits but creators on the team will make 96 edits because they wanted to make sure that when they submitted stuff it was something that the client would like. They made it very clear that you need to submit different ideas not just the one that you think is the best. P.A. bootcamp really opened my eyes to what it's going to be like to work on studio events. It's not about you, it's about the people above you. On the first day, we mostly learned vocabulary. We learned how to set up AD kits, and what all the paper work is. We learned the proper way to act on each show and movie. Big profit television shows you need to be  50% personality and 50% work ethic. On just a regular television show you need to be 70% work ethic and 30% personality. The reason for the ratio being 70:30 is because time is money, and on a television show you have less time/ shorter deadlines. I learned that you have to think positive and leave work stuff, at work. If you make a mistake, put it behind you and learn from it for your next production. You have to put yourself in the mind set of a A.D. which is always anticipating. Anticipating the next scene, who needs to come next, what you need, ect. As a P.A. you want to talk little as possible. You do not want to ta...

During the day we were going to go to SONY, but it ended up getting changed to Monday. So, we waited to go see the showing of Mom, at 6pm. During the taping we were not allowed to have cell phones. The showing of Mom was interesting to see that it takes over 100 people to create a 30 minute television show. I also liked being able to see the show live because then you get to see that they are real people and get to see the mistake made into the show. It was also so cool to see the director getting out of his chair to fix things he didn't like and take the time to talk with the actors. It was also interesting to know that writers are writing while the show is going on, so lines would be read back differently so the audience would have a better response. It was cool to see what it's really going to look like working behind the scenes on films, and television shows.

Yesterday we woke up bright and early to hop into the car and make our way to the city of Angles, LA. We then made a stop in San Simeon and saw Hearst Castle. It was so cool to see how Citizen Kane the movie we watch in Mass Media was actually about William Hearst. As, well as seeing such beautiful Architecture. It's amazing to see how much something like that cost back then and how many years went into it. There was so many beautiful views to see throughout the Castle. My favorite room was the bell room, because of the shape and how beautiful it looked. The lighting in the Castle was amazing. The views and all the architecture was really breathe taking. You saw the Mountains on one side and the Ocean on the other. I can't believe that William Hearst never thought the castle was done, he'd always say it was only 40% done or less. On my last day in San Francisco, was going to twitch and Segway riding through San Francisco. Twitch was interesting I really appreciated the tour because Robert was so genuine with us. I liked learning that Twitch was more than just gaming. Now, they are looking to hiring more engineering students, but they have a whole A.V. team. I also liked learning that the place is now remodeled and already too small, for the amount of people they are hiring. Which I think is great because they are giving people an opportunity to explore such an exciting thing with many different fields for many people. I also appreciate that they go scouting for the best of the best interns, so they care about the quality of their work, as well as paying them and giving them room and board. I also liked how they had access to free breakfast, lunch, and dinner as a cheaper way of transportation to work and back from work, and access to snacks. To start the day off we hoped in the car at 7:10am to leave for Google. This was an hour drive. You soon learn A lot about LA traffic. I saw a lady clipping her nails while waiting in traffic because there was a bad accident. Then 1hour and 30 mins later we ended up at Google. What I appreciated most about Google was the fact that they valued each and everyone of their workers. The benefits were insane! They had mental health counseling, masseuse, bike storage, shuttles to get you to and from work, micro kitchens on every floor, restaurants and cafes in every building, gyms, laundry, a tech stop for chargers and anything technology related, and dry cleaning pick up and delivery. Google was also a very aesthetically pleasing place, with one building representing every one of the many buildings worldwide. Today was the day all the anticipation went away, we all finally headed out to California! The first stop was San Francisco, with a few minor pit stops. First, our plane got delayed, we finally left around 9am, when we originally were suppose to leave at 7:30am. Then we arrived in Chicago, around 11, which the plane ride mostly consisted of me sleeping or listening to music. Then we finally got on our fight to San Fransisco. This 5 hour flight was just full of sleeping. Then as soon as we arrived to San Fransisco around 3:30pm we went to In n Out Burger. Which was DELICIOUS. But, don't ask about the traffic pulling into In N Out, because we definitely weren't IN fast thanks to the Quick Quack Car wash. Apparently everyone in San Fransisco needed a car wash at 3:40pm Monday after noon. But we had to be quick, and we rushed on over to the Letterman Digital Arts Center, Also known as Lucas Film.
